Hi Lara! So the angles in a triangle have to add up to 180 degrees. And we already know that one of the angles is 90 degrees (right angle). So we can make an expression that equals 180 in order to solve for x.
7x+5x+18+90=180
You can then simplify this and solve for x:
12x+108=108
12x=72
x=6
Then to answer the question, the smallest angle is 7x and 7 x 6 = 42. So the smallest angle is 42 degrees.
